Outdoor Painting Workshop Expands Horizons

Bob RohmFollowing the widely anticipated Kerrville Outdoor Painters Event (KOPE) from October 5th through 8th, nationally-acclaimed KOPE judge Bob Rohm will hold a three-day hands-on workshop from Sunday, October 9th through Tuesday, October 11th. Both events are coordinated by Kerr Arts and Cultural Center (KACC).

Participants will have the opportunity to paint alongside a teacher renowned for his ability to capture the poetry of light, whose paintings reflect the brilliance of the colors found in the clear, bright light of the southwest. The workshop will be accessing the private property of some of the most interesting painting locations in the area. “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to take their plein air painting to the next level,” commented Grace Roach, Education Director at KACC.

Tuition for this workshop is $325; however, the American Plains Artists orgnanization is offering two generous, partial scholarships that can be applied for by contacting KACC.

Bob’s unique painting approach has been the subject of several instructional DVDs, enabling workshop participants to continue working with Bob’s ideas and techniques after participating in his workshop.

Bob has received many awards and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, Oil Painters of American and the Outdoor Painters Society. He is the author of the book THE PAINTERLY APPROACH and has been featured in many publications including Southwest Art, American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, The Pastel Journal, International Artist and Pure Color.
