“It took us a while to figure out how to join together the incredible art exhibits we have for February with our 2017 Chocolate Fantasy celebration,” notes Minns, KACC Executive Director.

Minns continues “I just couldn’t imagine mixing pink hearts and lace with such dynamic works.  In our quest for a solution, we discovered that chocolate originated in that very culture that will be depicted on the walls of our galleries, so we are going ‘all out’, tropics and rainforest.”

“Consequently,” Minns says animatedly, “in keeping with the ancient origins of Chocolate, we have a fabulous collection of Andy Villarreal’s ‘Indigenous Mesoamerican Culture’ work showing in the Avery.  The paintings are large mixed media pieces that are extremely bold in subject and color.  They depict the Mesoamerican ceremony and culture. At the same time, in the Cornels gallery, we’re featuring the impressively large portraits of celebrated women by deceased artist, Kristin Eyfells, These, too, are incredibly passionate and rainbow hued, and compliment the impressive sculpture of Johann Eyfells, also on exhibit. Rounding out the Feb/Mar KACC calendar is “Within Nature – Nature Within”, with the work of artists Monika Lovelace and Saundra Kattawar.”

The February/March collection of these three unique exhibits will run from February 9th through March 26th, with a free public reception featuring KACC’s usual fine spread of refreshments, to be held on Saturday, February 18th from 2-4 pm. Everyone is invited! Admission is free.

The 2017 Chocolate Fantasy event takes place at KACC on Sunday Afternoon, February 12th from 1-3 pm at the KACC Galleries, 228 Earl Garrett Street, Kerrville, Texas 78028.
