Kerr Arts and Cultural Centers May Gallery Exhibits

KACC is offering a wide range of shows to celebrate May in the Hill Country. All shows will run from April 28 through May 22, with a public reception on Saturday, April 30, from 2—4 pm.

In the Avery Gallery visitors will enjoy the Kerrville Art Club’s Show & Sale, featuring the best of current work by Art Club members.

“Deeper Than Beauty”, an exhibit by fiber artist Caryl Gaubatz and watercolorist Martha Allen, is a collaborative tribute to the essence of women. Caryl is an award winning fiber artist who makes narrative garments. Her work is distinctive because of her exquisite surface design –often created through the use of organic techniques using soil, compost and time — and her expert and meticulous tailoring and garment design and construction. Martha is a romantic realist whose watercolors are synonymous with travel and adventure. Her goal is to show the richness of exotic cultures through compelling ethnic portraits and colorful market and street scenes from throughout Latin America.

And to top off this month’s multimedia diversity, an impressive stained glass exhibit by Patrick McDaniel entitled “Glassworks” will be on display in the Derby Gallery. Patrick was recently named Kerrville Art Club’s “Artist of the Month”.

KACC serves the Texas Hill Country year-round with innovative art exhibits, hands-on workshops and community-wide art events. Our address is 228 Earl Garrett in downtown Kerrville, and Gallery hours are 10-4 Tues –Sat and 1-4 Sundays. For more information on KACC and our upcoming events please visit http://www.kacckerrville.com or call 830-895-2911 during gallery hours.
