This is a series of basic painting workshop on still life painting. Students will start a different painting for each class and learn basic skills such as shading, color mixing, and selecting your subject matter. Learn step by step how painters use the Elements of Art.
3rd Class: Shading in Color Mixing a pastel palette and an intense palette
Color mixing might sound easy but it can be very frustrating when complimentary colors don’t go well with your primary or analogous or tertiary colors! Learn how to mix and match and select colors using this basic theory. A common still life set up will help you as you experiment 3 different ways to mix and match color schemes.

Ren was born in Denver, Colorado and has spent several years teaching and studying art in Denver, Rome, Italy and New York City. She earned her BFA in Fine Art from Denver University, spending her 3rd year in Rome, as an Art student at the Tyler School of Art, an extension of Temple University. She has a Masters in Curriculum and Instructional Design from Colorado Christian University, which she currently utilizes as an art teacher. She enjoys painting, bike riding, gardening and spending time with her husband and 2 cats. Ren reads and speaks Italian.
