KACC August Shows Are (Can’t Help It) HOT

Kerr Arts & Cultural Center eases the heat of Summer with three exhibits that sizzle visually in KACC’s air-conditioned galleries. All August shows will run from July 28th through August 28th.

Artists from The Vibe Tribe are presenting a show inspired by the idea of “Messages from the Creative Mind”. This is an invitational show that has been curated by members of The Vibe Tribe, so visitors should expect some interesting surprises. Featured artists include Michelle Peterson, Wiley Fudge, Ben Holloway, Tish Miller, and Aurora Joleen Franklin.

Also featured in August, the KACC annual juried show is entitled “Images” and will offer the best of the work currently being done by KACC’s community-wide group of talented artists. The show is juried by Texas artist Lisa Baer, owner of Estelle Stair gallery in Rockport. Winners in all categories will be announced at the July 30th reception.

In an innovative Kerr County Historical Commission exhibit opening July 28, entitled KERR COUNTY, TEXAS, 1856-2016, “THE EARLY YEARS”, KACC gallery visitors can enjoy rarely-seen items from the Society’s collection in celebration of 160 years of Kerr County History. KCHC chair Julie Mosty Leonard notes that “Our exhibit opening July 28 is the first of several shows we hope to have so residents and KACC visitors can get a fuller picture of our county’s rich past.”

The reception for all KACC August shows will be quite a fiesta, with Latin music, as well as KACC’s always tasty food and beverages, and will take place from 2-4 on Saturday afternoon, July 30th at Kerr Arts & Cultural Center. The public is cordially invited.

KACC serves the Texas Hill Country year-round with innovative art exhibits, hands-on workshops and community-wide art events. Our building and facilities are fully accessible.

Kerr Arts and Cultural Center – July’s Very Cool Events

With its beautifully renovated suite of three spacious galleries and a Texas-capacity AC system, KACC may be one of the best places in Kerrville to be cool with the arts. From June 30 through July 24, there will be three distinctly different Arts experiences available. A public reception for all July shows will be Saturday, July 9th from 2-4 at KACC.

July at KACC always features the arts community’s annual tribute to Hill Country educators with the “Hometown Crafts Teachers’ Show”, an event that brings together inspired educator/artists from throughout Central Texas to display their latest work.

Also in July Kerrville Fiber Artists will present a highly innovative, collaborative show called “Off the Wall”. The 9 fiber artists in the group have created two 8 foot-long crocheted “underwater” coral reefs inspired by the Institute For Figuring’s “Crochet Coral Reef Project” that visited San Antonio’s Southwest School of Art in 2015.

Brush & Palette is an open group working in KACC studios. The “Brush & Palette” artists work in diverse media. This show represents their latest work.

KACC serves the Texas Hill Country year-round with innovative art exhibits, hands-on workshops and community-wide art events. Our address is 228 Earl Garrett in downtown Kerrville, and Gallery hours are 10-4 Tues –Sat and 1-4 Sundays. For more information on KACC and our upcoming events please visit http://www.kacckerrville.com or call 830-895-2911 during gallery hours.
