KACC Features “Southwest Gourd Art” Show Winners & More in June

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFrom May 26 through June 26 the annual “Southwest Gourd Show” will be on display in Kerr Arts & Cultural Center’s Avery Gallery. This annual show brings together carefully selected artists from across the nation, and features over 100 carved, painted, inlaid and otherwise creatively enhanced gourds by the USA’s best artists. Most of the Gourd Art is for sale and visitors will find something for every kind of home or office décor.

The 2016 Gourd Art judges are Gerald and Debbie Tobola of Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top, and Mary Lee Tennant of Kerrville.

During the same May 26-June 26 timeframe KACC will host the show entitled “Hanging Together”: 22 Years as Visions 10 “ which will hang in the Cornels Gallery. This is a collection of the latest work of “Visions 10”, a group of Hill Country artists and friends who have been working and showing together for decades.

Also on display during this time in the Derby Gallery visitors will enjoy “Trees”, an exhibit of archival photographs by Joseph Walsh, a widely-admired Texas photographer.

The free public reception for all June shows will be on Saturday, May 28th from 2 to 4 pm in the KACC galleries. KACC serves the Texas Hill Country year-round with innovative art exhibits, hands-on workshops and community-wide art events.
