Kerr Arts & Cultural Center Executive Director Debbie Minns can’t wait for the party to begin. “Every year the Black & White Gala gets bigger and better,” Minns laughs, “ and everyone knows I do love to party with our friends and patrons. This year is going to be exceptional, and we’re so pleased to be holding the event again at Comanche Trace!”
Minns continues, “We have a great list of auction items including a Photographic Portrait by Darlene Smith, a Merlots Merry Masters painting party for up to 12 adults that includes workshop space at KACC, professional instruction and supplies for your choice of painting, and a Personalized Baby Quilt by award-winning Kerrville quilter, Barbara Woodman. And that’s only the beginning!”
The evening begins with a wine reception and a chance to view the auction items before bidding begins. The Black & White Gala dinner, catered by the gourmet chefs from the Club at Comanche Trace, includes a Texas-style salad, beef tenderloin with fingerling potatoes and fire-roasted veggies, topped off with a sinfully delicious chocolate mousse dessert. Dinner music will be provided by Dr. Donald Crandall of Schreiner University, and a photographer will help memorialize the festivities with black & white photos of all the guests. Following dinner the auction begins, and if past Galas are any guide the competition will get intense.
Tickets for the Black & White Gala are $100 for individuals, or $1000 for a table of 8. Reservations can be made by contacting KACC directly by phone, email or in person. The deadline for registration is 4 PM Tuesday, September 8th. Proceeds of the event will support exhibits and art education at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center.
