With close to 30 historic buildings throughout downtown Kerrville, you are bound to find one of our talented plein air artists painting your favorite.  Shown below is our neighbor, the historic Schreiner Mansion.

#1 – Buy Your Favorite Piece of Art!

Buy your favorite piece directly from the artist during their Quick Draw Event, or come back and see us for the evening reception in our Avery Gallery and browse all the beautiful Plein Air pieces painted by all of our 40 + artists as they painted on location throughout Kerrville over the course of three days.

The beautiful evening reception will take place Saturday October 4th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.  The evening is sponsored in part by Kerr County Abstract & Title Co. and Kerrville Hills Winery, with food provided by Azul Lounge.

Acclaimed artists from across Texas and beyond come to paint the Texas Hill Country October 1 – 4

Works painted dawn ’til dusk on location by dozens of artists during the 4-day event.

Friday, October 3

Outdoor painting at exciting Hill Country locations wind up mid-afternoon of Friday October 3rd, and the painters and their admiring public will then gather late afternoon on the streets of downtown Kerrville in the vicinity of Kerr Arts & Cultural Center for a “Quick Draw” event starting at 5 & ending at 6:30.  The judge for “Quick Draw” is Herman Walker, who will announce the winners immediately following the end of the competition.

Saturday, October 4

Then on Saturday, October 4th the action moves to the KACC galleries for the opening Reception and “Wet Paint Sale” from 6-8 PM. All the work from the three days of Plein Air painting and the “Quick Draw” competition will be on display and for sale. Admission is, as always, free and will feature food and wine with the Awards ceremony at 7 PM. The Judge for the Plein Air painting event will be Phil Bob Borman.

The Plein Air KACC events are sponsored by Kerr County Abstract and Title Co, Sally and Mary Minter Family Foundation, Bank of the Hills – Comerica and Rivers Edge Gallery. Azul Lounge will provide the food for the Saturday Reception & Awards, and Wine will be provided by Kerrville Hills Winery.
