Skilled woodworkers from across Texas are invited to apply to exhibit their best work at the Eighteenth Annual Texas Furniture Makers’ Show presented by Woodcraft®. The Show will be staged at Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, Kerrville, Texas from October 26 through December 1, 2017. A free public reception on November 4th from 5:30 – 8 pm, will include a delicious spread of food and beverages and a ceremony where over $6000 in prizes will be awarded.
The Kerr Arts & Cultural Center’s newly renovated triple galleries provide expansive spaces for shows like this annual tribute to the skills and imagination of the finest artists currently working in diverse, deeply-rooted woodworking traditions.
Judges for the 18th annual Texas Furniture Makers’ Show will be: Ron Goldman, Tim Snyder and Louis Fry. Ron Goldman is the founder and publisher of “Woodworker West” Magazine, and Tim Snyder is editor-in-chief of “Woodcraft Magazine”. Louis Fry’s work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Texas Monthly, Urban Home, Furniture & Cabinetmaking and many other prestigious publications.
In recent years, the Show has sold up to $50,000 worth of furniture and accessories. This is a must-enter annual event and a great selling and client-contact venue for fine furniture makers.
All applications must be submitted with a $25 non-refundable jury fee. Entries will be judged by a panel of woodworking professionals. The final application deadline is Friday, September 15, 2017. In keeping with KACC’s mission to encourage new furniture makers to enter the craft, we include a category for “Apprentice Furniture Maker” on the Entry Application.
